CEO Teases Agentic Commerce Tools and Major AI Rollout in 2026

During a recent investor call, the CEO announced that the company will soon begin shipping new AI models and products. He noted that the lab’s foundations were rebuilt in 2025, and that over the coming months the organization plans to steadily push the frontier of its AI capabilities.

While no exact timelines were given, the focus on AI‑driven commerce stood out. The CEO said that agentic shopping tools would let users discover the perfect mix of products from the businesses in the company’s catalog, turning the shopping experience into a more personalized, intuitive journey.

Industry peers are also exploring similar ideas. Leading search engine giants and prominent AI research labs have launched platforms for agent‑enabled transactions, partnering with payment services providers and rideshare companies. However, the CEO believes that the company’s deep access to personal data will make its agents uniquely valuable.

“We’re starting to see the promise of AI that understands our personal context—our history, interests, content, and relationships,” the CEO explained. “That context is what makes agents truly powerful, and we’ll deliver a uniquely personal experience.”

Earlier this year, the company acquired a general‑purpose agent developer and plans to continue offering its services while weaving the technology into its own products.

The investor call coincided with the release of the latest quarterly earnings, which revealed a significant jump in infrastructure spending. The company now expects to invest between $115 billion and $135 billion in capital expenditures throughout 2026, up from $72 billion in 2025. The increase is tied to the expansion of its superintelligence labs and core business initiatives.

While that figure is still below the projected $600 billion of infrastructure spending through 2028, investors have raised concerns about how such massive AI investments will translate into profitability. The CEO acknowledged the criticism but reiterated that the lab’s work would soon reach the public.

“This is going to be a big year for delivering personal superintelligence, accelerating our business, building infrastructure for the future, and shaping how our company will work going forward,” he said, underscoring the company’s ambitious roadmap.
